15 second victory dance!

500!! Wow. Yayy me.

I started blogging 2 months ago, in February 2017. And honestly I never imagined I’d get to talk to so many lovely people or receive so much love. I don’t consider myself a writer (not being modest). For the first month I was dead scared and half expected comments saying you don’t know what you’re talking about, go back! Imagine my anticipation every time I heard the *ding* indicating a notification. I kept thinking this is it Manal pack your bags! Thankfully that never happened.

For those of you who don’t know, my name is Manal. And I have a habit of talking to myself like that. I’m not insane (though that’s exactly what an insane person would say). Safe to say, I’m a healthy amount of insane and another thing about me is that I procrastinate a lot. Sometimes it takes me all day to get nothing done. (You probably didn’t need to know that.)

Anyway, I mentioned above that I don’t consider myself a writer. That’s because I’m not. I have a degree in Fashion Designing. Writing is something I’ve always been fascinated with. It gives me immense satisfaction in making ideas and thoughts immortal by writing them down and sharing them with the world. (never considered actually doing that 2 months ago). Having said that, I’m really glad I decided to give it a shot.

Blogging community is special to me. I’m a newbee and you guys have been so nice and supportive. I think the best part about writing is the feedback I get and reading the stories shared with me. Writing can make you feel exposed so you can understand why in the beginning I felt like a single mistake could attract backlash and I’d end up telling myself “I told you to pack your bags and flee the country” but none of that happens here. We’re all about encouraging each other and sharing our experiences. I’ve loved my time here so far. I never thought I had such an exciting life, before I read the feedback on my posts!

Thank you so much for the love and comments guys this means a lot to me. I’m humbled and honoured to be a part of this community.

P.S I would love to find out more about you guys. Please drop by with your names so I can get to know you better. I love it when someone gives me feedback addressing my name. I’d like to do the same.

Love,

Manal

  1. Congratulations and keep on doing what you are doing Manal. Talking to myself is what I did best for about 3 years. Then I found the actual blogging community a month ago, since then I have met many great supportive people. Your blog is awesome and I am following.

    1. I started writing for myself I never considered myself a good writer. But as people started reading and commenting it made me really happy to be able to link with so many amazing people.
Don’t stress out on the followers bit. Just keep doing what you love. People will too.
