Real Neat Blog Award (with a twist)

Thank you so much Pharaoh for nominating me. It’s an amazing feeling knowing someone thinks you’re worthy of an award, that your writing deserves recognition. I know I should have waited a little after the nomination to post this to earn me some cool points but I was too excited about this.

To all who don’t know Pharaoh’s blog is about traveling and so much more. He’s also the one who suggested yoga when I couldn’t sleep and I’m very thankful for that. I do it everyday now! So go check out his blog for some insightful posts.

@iampharaohmaktuk.wordpress.com I am sherif’s Pharaoh

We already know the rules for the awards but I’m going to do something different today. Like the title says, with a twist.

I nominate anyone and everyone that likes or comments on this post. Awards are about recognition and encouraging each other, right? So I came up with this idea. If you want just leave a comment and I shall post officially on your blog to nominate you.

Rules remain the same. Reblog, thank the person who nominated you and answer the questions. I’m keeping Pharaoh’s questions because I loved them. They seem very personal and deep. A great way of knowing somebody up close. So here we go.

1. What is your main inspiration as a writer. Which writers inspire you, and why do you write?

Charles bukowski was among the first poets that touched my heart. I used to think actions mattered more than words, that was before I knew how words could touch a person’s soul. It amazes me how a world set on destroying itself could say beautiful and inspiring things. I want to touch somebody’s heart with my words. To make them believe they aren’t alone or just inspire them in any way. That would be the main reason I write.

2. If you were stranded on an island with one time what would it be?

Sunset. There’s something very moving about a sunset. The colors blending in the sky leave me speechless.

3. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now where would you go?

There’s not a single place I wouldn’t want to go. Traveling and meeting new people, learning their traditions, that kind of exposure really shapes your personality. Though saying goodbye would be very hard after that.

4. What is more important to you, self-love or health?

Self love. Healthy life is great but not as much as a life lived to its fullest. I absolutely admire the people who, inspite of their poor health, love themselves and their lives. They are more compassionate and kind. I find them beautiful in their liberty. Truly inspiring. Solute to them.

5. If you had to eat a food every single meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

Pasta! I wanted to say pizza but let’s just say it has second place. Might anger the pizza lovers. But sorry guys I’m a pasta girl.

6. What is one thing you truly regret on a deeply profound level and wish you could change? Or are you at peace with everything?

Believe it or not, absolutely nothing. I’m not at peace with everything, I think nobody is. But I wouldn’t change anything because that’s how I got here, as the person that I am now. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be better. For now I’m content.

7. What are you most grateful for in life?

Everything. My house, my shoes 😁, clothes, makeup, friends like family. I’m thankful that even though I’ve been through so much, I still have the ability to see the beauty in things. I’m sorry for all the souls that lost sight of it.
So once again I nominate anybody who likes or comments. Answer the same questions. Good luck guys. Happy blogging.

Love,

Manal

  1. Wow, I’m so glad you’re doing yoga everyday now!! Congrats, do you do hot yoga?

And I love your answers, nothing beats a gorgeous sunset and the feeling when its gone and time to move on. As with traveling as well, so beautiful in the moment while exploring a foreign place, with different cultures and cuisines, but it really does feel somewhat disheartening on that last day!

You more than deserve every award on WordPress girl!! Keep writing 🙂

  2. I liked the questions and the replies, and think it’s a great idea to nominate anyone who supports your blog! Unfortunately, I’ve receive this award already, so I won’t be doing it again.

    1. Thank you. And yes it’s good for encouraging other bloggers. I see what you mean after a few awards people stop doing them. It’s fine that’s up to you ofcourse. But it’s always good to know you got nominated 😊
